House of Cakes founder Antonio Pasulo was born in Brindisi, Puglia, Italy. He moved to the United States in 1978 after graduating from the Culinary School in Luzon, Switzerland to pursue the “American Dream”. Antonio has over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry and each of his endeavors has enjoyed tremendous success beginning with his Piccolo Sogna and Villa Arturo restaurants in New Jersey.
In 2002 he moved south to begin a new chapter in Panama City Beach, FL. He envisioned a restaurant that would provide guests with reasonably priced food of exceptional quality, with old world service and presentation.
In early 2003, Antonio formally opened the “Pasta Grill and Seafood Restaurant”. There he blends his fresh pasta and sauces into delectable entrees that showcase true Italian cuisine with a flair found nowhere else on the Emerald Coast. Each entree is meticulously made to order, even using the fresh basil and rosemary grown on the premises.
In 2007 Antonio realized another lifelong dream. He opened a true Italian Bakery and named it Antonio’s Bakery & Café and located it at 17836 Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach, Florida right beside his beloved Pasta Grill Restaurant. Italian bakers began early each morning crafting sumptuous cakes and desserts, making authentic Italian Gelato and baking fresh European artisan breads.
In 2008 a deli service was added to the Bakery with freshly made sandwiches using breads from the Bakery and using premium Boar’s Head meats.
It was also in 2008, with demand for his Bakery goods exploding, that Antonio decided to expand the Bakery production facilities to distribute his gourmet cakes and desserts to a much larger wholesale market. He knew that he needed a partner to bring the Bakery to this next level and he turned to his longtime friend in Panama City Beach, Greg Lissor. Together, Antonio and Greg designed, built and opened House of Cakes Inc at 7515B Holley circle in Panama City Beach, Florida as a wholesale bakery production facility. They also succeeded in securing distribution of some of their cakes through both Sysco Foods and through US Foodservice.
Locally they established a thriving pickup business (cash & carry) with restaurants, country clubs and caterers, offering these local businesses new and unique cake and dessert selections at affordable prices boosting profits and rekindling sales.
Along with the new cutting edge facility and top of the line refrigeration, House of Cakes boasts a design studio for Wedding and Specialty Cakes.
